Ambassador Bilal Ahmad
Ambassador Bilal Ahmad assumed his position as Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, other International Organizations, and Conference on Disarmament in Geneva on 8 November 2023.
This marks his second tenure in Geneva, having previously served as an expert from 2009 to 2012.
In his diplomatic career, he has also served at Pakistan Embassies in Tunis (Tunisia) and Tripoli (Libya), as well as the Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. He has also been the Deputy Head of Mission at Pakistan's Embassy in Riyadh (KSA).
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, Ambassador Ahmad has served in the Europe and Central Asia Divisions, as Director in the United Nations Division, Director General of the Middle East Division, and Director General in the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Ahmad holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and worked briefly in Pakistan’s public health sector before joining the Foreign Service of Pakistan.
He is married.
